2026 Fantasy Outlook
McDougal is a sleeper pitching prospect for dynasty and redraft leagues heading into 2026. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound righty has a power arsenal, led by a mid-to-upper-90s fastball that touches triple digits and a pair of swing-and-miss breaking balls. His hammer curveball is arguably his best pitch, while his slider shows above-average potential. McDougal made 28 regular-season starts split across High-A and Double-A, but he really broke out after a mid-June promotion Double-A. He logged a 3.23 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 63 strikeouts and a 46.5 percent groundball rate in 55.2 innings and dialed it up a notch for a two Southern League playoff starts, striking out 11 batters while allowing one hit and zero walks over seven innings. McDougal didn't demonstrate starter-caliber control prior to 2025 and could use another weapon against lefties, but he doesn't turn 23 until after Opening Day. Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith might be more famous than McDougal, but McDougal was clearly the White Sox's best minor-league starter in 2025 and is the most likely of their pitching prospects to make an impact in the 2026 big-league rotation.
