Bender delivered a career-best 2.16 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 50 innings in 2025, but his surface statistics didn't align with his expected metrics. The 30-year-old's 3.56 xERA, 4.47 xFIP and .213 BABIP indicate he was very fortunate in the ratio department, as evidenced by his negative-1.46 ERA-FIP that was the third biggest discrepancy among qualified relievers. The right-hander's 10.3 K-BB percentage was also the worst mark of his career. However, he maintained a high-leverage role for Miami and remained on fantasy radars with four saves and a career-high 19 holds. Bender missed the final month-and-a-half of the 2025 campaign due to a right tibial stress reaction, but with plenty of time to heal this offseason, the veteran is in line to serve in a setup role for the Marlins in 2026 ahead of closer Pete Fairbanks.
