After re-establishing himself as a starter during his first year with Atlanta in 2024, Lopez made just one start last season before shoulder surgery ended his season. The right-hander is being stretched back out as a starter this winter, but it's possible he's shifted to a bullpen role. Lopez's 1.99 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 148:42 K:BB across 135.2 innings during 2024 is an alluring target, but that's the only time he's topped 70 frames in a season since 2019, and a 3.44 xFIP indicates he was likely due for some regression.
