Suarez was acquired by Atlanta from the Angels in early March and spent the majority of the 2025 season in the minors, where he logged a 3.50 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 69:12 K:BB over 61.2 innings across three levels. Although he appeared in just seven major-league games, Suarez made the most of his limited opportunities and excelled in his lone start against the Nationals on Sept. 16, when he tossed seven scoreless innings while fanning nine batters. The 28-year-old southpaw will likely open the 2026 season with Triple-A Gwinnett, but given his experience as a starter, he could be called up by the parent club to serve as a long reliever out of the bullpen who can make a spot start from time to time.
