2025 Fantasy Outlook
When the Rays acquired Boyle, most everyone expected Kyle Snyder to change some things with Boyle in hopes of harnessing his raw stuff which was being held back by terrible command. Snyder and staff did make some mechanical simplifications while also adding a splitter to serve as an offspeed pitch and the first. year results were a mixed bag of success. Boyle had whiff rates of 25% or better on all three offerings and nearly doubled his K-BB% from the previous season. Yet, Boyle had one win in nine starts because ie only garnered more than 15 outs in one outing. Three of his six homers all came in one start at Seattle but there was also five starts with three or more walks including that forgettable Seattle game. Boyle struck out 172 batters with 69 walks in 138 innings of work between Durham and Tampa and is now entrenched in the rotation as he looks to further his improvements with the Rays. His BaseballSavant page has the following names as similar pitches based on velocity and movement: Burns, deGrom, Cease, Greene, Chandler. Big risks, but potentially big rewards too helped out by a move back indoors in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
