Tsung-Che Cheng News: DFA'd by Mets

The Mets designated Cheng for assignment Wednesday.

The move frees a spot on the 40-man roster for the signing of Luis Garcia. Cheng -- who was a waiver claim of the Mets just last week -- slashed only .209/.307/.271 at Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pirates organization in 2025. He could remain in the Mets organization if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
