Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies Betting Picks

  • Brewers team total 2.5 runs first five innings: OVER (+110) at DraftKings Sportsbook for 1 Unit
  • Both teams to score 3+ runs (-130) at DraftKings Sportsbook for 1 Unit

The Brewers have scored the second-most runs in baseball as they make a push for the playoffs. They have a favorable opportunity to stay hot at the plate with RHP Aaron Nola starting for the Phillies. Since being activated from the Injured List, he has given up 13 runs (12 earned) over 14.1 innings. He had a 1.47 WHIP during the span, and he has a 1.50 WHIP for the season. Another concerning stat for Nola is that he has allowed 14 home runs across 64 innings. Look for the Brewers to score early and often in this game.

We already like the Brewers to score at least three runs in this matchup. The Phillies also have a favorable path to scoring at least three runs. They enter having scored at least three runs in 12 of their last 15 games. The Brewers will start LHP Jose Quintana, who allowed six runs over 3.2 innings to the Diamondbacks in his last start. That outing came at home, where Quintana has a 5.59 xFIP and 1.45 WHIP this season.

Kansas City Royals vs. Los Angeles Angels Betting Picks

  • Royals ML (-178) at Caesars Sportsbook for 1 Unit

The Angels defeated the Royals on Tuesday in the first game of this series. Both teams are 4-6 across the past 10 games, but the Royals have the advantage with this series being played in Kansas City. They are 37-33 at home, while the Angels are 31-38 on the road.

The Royals also have a starting pitching advantage in this game with RHP Ryan Bergert facing RHP Caden Dana. Bergert has given up two or fewer runs in each of his last seven outings. Dana made two appearances for the Angels earlier in the season, giving up five runs and posting a 2.00 WHIP over six innings. He is being recalled to start this game despite posting a 5.93 ERA, 5.72 xFIP and a 1.59 WHIP across 18 starts at Triple-A.

Another reason to like the Royals in this game is the status of the bullpens for both teams. The Royals should have their full complement of relievers as everyone is well rested. That includes Carlos Estevez and Lucas Erceg having not pitched since Saturday. Meanwhile, Kenley Jansen has pitched three of the last four days for the Angels, including throwing 22 pitches Tuesday. That means the Angels will probably be without their closer for this game.
