Best MLB Props for Tuesday, September 16

Even though the regular season is quickly approaching its end, that doesn't mean we're still not finding value from a betting perspective. Here we have our three best bets for Tuesday's action, where we'll back up a NL Rookie of the Year candidate, a slugger who's seeing the ball well of late, and a pitcher who will have value against one of the worst lineups in the AL.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago White Sox: Dean Kremer over 15.5 outs, +130 @ bet365

Kremer will get the nod Tuesday in what figures to be a favorable matchup against one of the worst lineups in the American League. Even though the right-hander was dealing with a forearm injury, he's been cleared to start and shouldn't have significant problems dealing with the White Sox's lineup.

Prior to sustaining the injury, Kremer had posted a 4.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB in 50 innings over his nine starts since the All-Star break. It's unclear if he'll face any limitations due to the forearm problem. Kremer hasn't recorded more than 15 outs in his previous three starts, but he's done it in six of his last 10 starts. He should take advantage of facing a weak Chicago lineup to hit that threshold for the first time since Aug. 17.

Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates: Cade Horton over 4.5 strikeouts, -122 @ FanDuel

Horton has been one of the best pitchers in the National League since the All-Star break and has earned decent buzz to win the NL Rookie of the Year award -- and deservedly so after his recent performances. The rookie hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last 10 starts, and he has a sparkling 0.84 ERA and 0.79 WHIP during that span. The low strikeout totals might be a concern, but the Pirates have been one of the worst offenses in the NL all season long.

Plus, it's not as if Horton isn't capable of striking out opposing batters -- he has nine starts with at least five punchouts. Considering that the Pirates rank as the second-worst team in the NL in total strikeouts, only ahead of the Rockies, expect the rookie to have a good shot at surpassing this line. Horton leads all National League rookies with his 10 wins, and he's making a strong case for NL Rookie of the Year honors with a 2.70 ERA and 1.11 WHIP across 110 innings overall.

New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins: Aaron Judge over 1.5 total bases, -110 @ DraftKings

Judge went 0-for-1 with three walks Monday against the Twins in the series opener, and the slugger is a strong bet to record multiple bases pretty much every time he steps on the batter's box. Having recorded over 1.5 total bases in five of his previous seven games, Judge could have another prolific outing since the Twins will start Zebby Matthews, a 25-year-old right-hander who owns a 5.06 ERA across 69.1 innings in 2025.

Judge has been seeing the ball well of late and is slashing .341/.518/.707 with a 1.225 OPS, five homers and an impressive 9:14 K:BB since the beginning of September. The Yankees need to bounce back after Monday's ugly loss, and Judge will lead the charge offensively as he's done all season long.
