After a long MLB season, we're down to our final few slates of traditional contests before heading into a few weeks with showdown contests to end the year. Tuesday's schedule features all four remaining American League teams, with the Tigers and Mariners kicking things off at 4:08 pm ET.
Pitching
We've seen some teams patch things together from a pitching perspective in the divisional series, but that won't be the case Tuesday. Logan Gilbert ($8,300) is the standout pitching arm, out-pacing his competition by almost five percentage points in strikeout rate. He also draws a Tigers' lineup that has struck out at a 23.9 percent clip for the season and a 25.6 percent rate in the final month of the regular season.
Shane Bieber ($8,000) was unsurprisingly inconsistent in his return from Tommy John surgery and struggled to generate whiffs as his outings progressed. The matchup against the Yankees gives him some strikeout upside, however, as New York struck out at a 26.7 percent rate in the last month of the regular season.
Top Hitters
Bieber is a good value at pitcher, but he does have a clear home run problem. He's allowed at least one home run in six of his seven starts this season while serving up multiple long balls in each of his last two outings. That puts some Yankees' power hitters on the radar, with Aaron Judge ($6,500) being the obvious name, but Ben Rice ($4,500) or even Cody Bellinger ($3,800) are viable alternatives that have swung the bat well this postseason.
Value Bats
Davis Schneider ($3,200) has hit second in the Toronto lineup against lefties and delivered a respectable .320 wOBA against lefties during the regular season. He's shown the consistent ability to get on base while also scoring runs thanks to his position at the top of the Blue Jays' order.
Stack to Consider
Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers (Jack Flaherty): Randy Arozarena ($4,300), Cal Raleigh ($6,300), Julio Rodriguez ($5,300)
Flaherty has been sharp lately, but he has the highest chance of giving up a big outing based on both his skills and the matchup. He has allowed three or more earned runs in three of his last seven outings. Meanwhile, Seattle closed the season tied for the highest wOBA in the league in the last 30 days (.339), paired with the highest ISO (.209). The only downside is that the top of the lineup is fairly expensive.
