Alphonso Davies Injury: Nearing return

Davies (knee) is very close to return to the match squad, coach Vincent Kompany said in the press conference. "Alphonso is very close, it's not quite enough for tomorrow, but it will be soon."

Davies trained with the team in recent weeks and is very close from making his return to the match squad. That return could happen against Sporting CP in Tuesday's Champions League clash or against Mainz next Sunday if everything goes as planned. This is good news for Bayern since Davies is an undisputed starter at left-back when fully fit and he will likely gradually build his fitness when back to claim that role at the beginning of 2026.
