Losing streak hits three
LightweightUFC
November 15, 2025
Borshchev lost to Matheus Camilo via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 322 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev is a very talented kickboxer, but there has always been a massive hole in his grappling defense, and Camilo was the latest opponent to take advantage. Slava allowed five takedowns on 10 attempts. He didn't absorb much damage on the mat and actually managed a reversal of his own in Round 3, but he was simply never able to gain any momentum on the feet because he was constantly being planted on his back. Set to turn 34 years old in January, Borshchev has lost three in a row and four of five dating back to May 2024. He's a potential release candidate at this point.

Short-notice fight scheduled
LightweightUFC
November 7, 2025
Borshchev is scheduled to compete against fellow lightweight Matheus Camilo at UFC 322 in New York City on Nov. 15, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev and Camilo are coming off sub-minute losses, so both will look to make a significant bounce back in the UFC's annual Madison Square Garden event. The former recently lost to Terrance McKinney via guillotine choke at UFC 317.

Borshchev lost to Terrance McKinney via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:55 of Round 1 at UFC 317 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev almost certainly went into this fight with the same game plan every McKinney opponent has -- that being, survive an early onslaught and then take advantage of your exhausted foe. It may have worked, except for the fact Borshchev gave up an immediate takedown and was tapping out within a minute. It continues a troubling trend for the 33-year-old Team Alpha Male product. Borshchev has lost two straight, three of four, and has just 2-5-1 in his past eight bouts dating back to March 2022.

Borshchev is scheduled to compete against fellow lightweight Terrance McKinney at UFC 317 in Paradise on June 28, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev will look to bounce back from a decision loss he suffered at UFC 312 in Sydney. A week before the pay-per-view, McKinney finished Tom Nolan in under one round. Borshchev will not have momentum on his side, but that has not stopped him from getting UFC wins before.
Struggles continue in Sydney
LightweightUFC
February 8, 2025
Borshchev lost to Tom Nolan via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC 312 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
This sort of felt like a must-win for Borshchev as a -135 favorite, and it didn't go his way. He displayed excellent athleticism and balance in stuffing 7-of-8 Nolan takedown attempts, but the harder blows on the feet most definitely came from the other side, which is a major concern considering Borshchev is a pure stand-up specialist and the lead striking coach for Team Alpha Male. The 33-year-old drops to 2-4-1 in his last seven fights dating back to March 2022. That's not going to cut it.
Taking on Nolan
LightweightUFC
December 16, 2024
Borshchev will take on Tom Nolan in a lightweight bout at UFC 312 on Feb. 8 in Sidney, Australia, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Borshchev will look to make it two straight after taking care of James Llontop via split decision back in August. The lightweight Now carries a UFC record of 3-3-1, and he'll take on an opponent in Nolan who is less experienced, with a 2-1 record. Nolan is coming off two straight wins, most recently besting Alex Reyes in August.
