Falls as big favorite
WelterweightUFC
November 23, 2025
Izagakhmaev lost to Nicolas Dalby via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Qatar on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Izagakhmaev entered this fight as a betting favorite in the ballpark of (-350), but his debut fight was spoiled by a gritty veteran in Dalby who badly needed the victory. Izagakhmaev was credited with a takedown in all three rounds, but was unable to do enough with the positional advantage to sway the judges. When it was all said and done, Dalby actually had the edge in control time due to a Round 2 reversal and plenty of clinch work. Simply put, this was a learning experience for Izagakhmaev, who will have to land a lot more than 20 significant strikes in a 15-minute fight if he's going to have future success with this grappling-based attack.
