Fighting at catchweight
Bonfim and Chris Padilla are scheduled to compete in a catchweight fight Saturday at UFC Vegas 111, MMA Fighting reports.
ANALYSIS
Bonfim missed weight by five pounds, but Padilla agreed to their fight going on, with the former losing 25 percent of his purse. Bonfim will look to get back to winning ways after a stoppage loss in his last fight.

Draws Padilla at UFC Vegas 111
Bonfim will take on Chris Padilla in a lightweight matchup at UFC Vegas 111 on Nov. 8, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Bonfim is coming off a TKO loss to Nazim Sadykhov in February, marking his second defeat in his last three fights and causing him to lose some of the steam he had behind him as a prospect upon initially entering the UFC. He now draws Padilla, who is 3-0 since joining the UFC roster in April of 2024. It's a small sample size, but Bonfim has the edge in both striking offense and defense. He'll carry a slight height advantage when the cage doors close, but also give up three inches in reach.

Inconsistent ways continue
Bonfim lost to Nazim Sadykhov via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
That was a weird one. Bonfim was the more effective fighter the majority of Round 1, but he ate a few huge blows late, headlined by a kick to the face. Bonfim was clearly struggling in between rounds, at which point referee Mark Smith called in the doctor. While there appeared to be some miscommunication, Bonfim said at one point that he couldn't see, and that's going to get the fight stopped every single time. The Brazilian has far more talent than his 2-2 career mark with the UFC would lead you to believe, but as always, you are what your record says you are in this sport.

Fighting at UFC Vegas 102
Bonfim will fight Nazim Sadykhov at UFC Vegas 102 on Feb. 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Bonfim earned a bounce-back win over Vinc Pichel in May to improve to 2-1 within the UFC. He'll now be tasked with taking down Sadykhov, who hasn't lost a professional bout since 2018 but also hasn't fought anyone since last November.

Gets right back in win column
Bonfim defeated Vinc Pichel via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Entering as upwards of a -600 favorite, Bonfim was expect to dominate this fight, and he did just that, from start to finish. Yes, Ismael was blessed with a massive speed and athleticism edge over the aging Pichel, but he deserves credit for taking his time and going about things in a smart manner and not allowing his opponent any openings to pull a potential upset. Bonfim was fresh off a first-round submission defeat to Benoit Saint-Denis last July, but there's no shame in that given the latter's strong run of late. Bonfim improves to 2-1 in his first three UFC bouts.
