Selected by Dallas with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, Tufte has failed to develop into a regular at the NHL level, and at the age of 26, it's questionable as to whether he ever will. He's a towering forward who did provide an impressive 23 goals, 45 points and 91 PIM across 67 regular-season games with AHL Colorado in 2023-24, but he's logged just 18 career NHL regular-season contests, and he doesn't seem likely to get consistent work after signing a one-year contract with Boston over the summer. Tufte made the Bruins' Opening Night roster but is projected to serve primarily as an extra. On the occasions he does play, Tufte might be a solid source of hits and PIM, though he has just six of the latter across his 18 total NHL games despite spending a significant amount of time in the sin bin in the minors.
