Jayden Maiava News: Plays well in rivalry game
Maiava completed 21 of 29 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 29-10 win over UCLA.
Maiava finished his junior campaign with an excellent total against UCLA. Maiava's arm represented one of the most potent passing attacks in the country this season, and he finished with 3,431 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions, and he also added six touchdowns with his feet. USC will likely end up in the Alamo Bowl or a bowl at level, but we will have to wait and see what Maiava's future plans hold. He has one year of eligibility remaining, and he'll have to decide if this is the year he makes the leap to the NFL. He's likely fall behind prospects like Fernando Mendoza and John Mateer, but he may benefit more from waiting a year. If the team can convince Ja'Kobi Lane to stick around, Maiava's decision could be affected. If he does decide to declare, he might end up as a no-show for the bowl game.
